Circular No. 182 / 15.02.09 / Building Energy Rating (BER) Certificates

From 1 January 2009 all buildings being offered for sale or rental are required by law to hold a valid Building Energy Rating Certificate. In order to obtain a BER a property must be surveyed by an approved agent and the results of this survey are then registered with Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI).

Following a request for quotes we are recommending Flynn's Energy Ratings (FER) to carry out this service atClifden Glen for a specially reduced rate of €199 per Lodge and €165 per cottage to include VAT and registration fee of €25 per property. We believe that the rate negotiated is very competitive but, owners are, of course, free to employ a different energy rating supplier if they feel this is appropriate for their own circumstances.

FER will carry out the survey within the next few weeks and will hold the individual Certificates on file for owners to request as required. Owners will then be required to pay the relevant fee directly to FER in order to obtain their Certificate.
